These Are The Supported Versions of Sage 100cloud As of October 1, 2019

As of October 1, 2019 the following Sage 100cloud versions are eligible for support directly from Sage.

Depending upon the Sage 100cloud version ( these dates also apply to the Sage 100 perpetual license) the level of support varies.

There Are Four Primary Types of Sage 100cloud Support:

Product Updates – Self-instlling bundle of fixes as well as some feature enhancements. These are typically issued on a regular basis throughought the year.

IRD – Interim Release Download – a special annual update which readies the verison of Sage 100cloud for year-end tax processing ( Accounts Payable and Payroll ) – expected release date mid-December 2019

Hot-Fixes – typically quick fixes which are issued urgently to fix a problem when the fix can’t wait until the next product update or when the version may not be eligible for product updates but is eligible for hot-fix.

Phone Support – the longest running support benefit is phone support which allows those with a Sage Business Care plan to call Sage directly.

If you are using Payroll with Sage 100cloud, this is the last year that Sage 100 2017 will be eligible for payroll updates coming into the 2019 year-end.

Users of the updated Payroll 2.x will want to update to version 2.2  ( expected mid-December 2019 release date ) which will be required for processing payroll taxes for 2019.

How To Close The Year In Sage 100 and Sage 100cloud

It’s almost that time of year when you’ll need to close the books within Sage 100 or Sage 100cloud.

Luckily, no matter which “flavor” of Sage 100 you are using the procedure is identical.

Before beginning any closing process I suggest you create an additional backup of your data to storage that is not permanently connected to your network. Inexpensive detachable USB drives work great for these type of impromptu backups.

This 15-minute video walks you through the process of closing and explains many of the frequently asked questions as well as demonstrating an additional way to make a quick backup within Sage ( we still recommend a separate backup which is stored off-site).

As part of your year-end closing we recommend you also consider:

Scheduling an upgrade with your partner ( Sage typically actively supports each version for about 18 months ( check this list of Supported Sage 100 Versions ) so if you haven’t upgraded recently you should consider scheduling a time for the upgrade). Review your credit card processing fees to see if there are any additional savings to be gained by changing credit card processors. There are several different credit card processors compatible with Sage 100.

Talk with your Sage partner about whether any third-party integrations would be helpful for your use in the coming year.

Sage 100 ERP Tax Tables, Interim Release, W2 Form Changes Now Available

If you’ve been waiting for the tax table updates from Sage for your Sage 100 ERP (formerly MAS 90 or MAS 200) be advised you can now download these from the Sage portal (in keeping with prior years there are NO disks sent by mail).

 

IRD (Interim Release Download): Interim Release Download contains the Year End program changes for Payroll, Accounts Payable and Electronic Reporting modules. It also contains necessary program changes for eFiling and Reporting.

TTU (Tax Table Update): Tax Table Update contains changes to applicable Federal and State withholding tax tables and wage limits, State Disability percentages and/or limits and State unemployment limits.

2013 IRD – Supported Versions:

  • 4.40.0.1 – 4.40.0.10
  • 4.50.0.0 – 4.50.0.7
  • 2013 PU 3 – 4

IMPORTANT: This is the last year that Sage will issue an IRD or W2 form changes. Next year in December 2014 you will use the Sage Aatrix for both form printing (1099 and W2) as well as electronic filing (The electronic filing module is replaced by Sage Aatrix).

Sage 100 ERP Tax Tables and IRD For 2013 Due December 20, 2013

Sage this week have updated some information about when their updated tax tables and year-end interim release will be available for payroll users. Expect both of these downloads to be made available on December 20, 2013.

According to their site:

The Tax Filing Year 2013 is the final year Sage will maintain and support the 1099 form in Accounts Payable, the W-2 and 941 forms in Payroll and the Electronic Reporting (formerly Magnetic Media) module.

As of Tax Filing Year 2014, customers will be able to print and/or eFile 250+ signature ready State and Federal tax forms from within the Sage 100 ERP integration to State and Federal eFiling and Reporting, powered by Aatrix, additional fees apply for eFiling services only.

Note for Payroll customers: We will continue to maintain and provide Payroll Tax Table Updates (TTU) for applicable supported versions.

Federal & State eFiling & Reporting powered by Aatrix, year-end updates will be released December 20th. Simply access Federal or State eFiling and Reporting from within Sage 100 ERP and the system will prompt you to apply the automatic update.

The 2013 Interim Release Download (IRD) and 2014-Q1 Tax Table Update (TTU) are scheduled to be posted by December 20th, remember to check back on the Sage Portal throughout the month of January for any last minute tax table updates.

Closing The Payroll Year in Sage 100 ERP (Reminders)

It’s that time of year when companies using the Sage 100 ERP payroll module go through the routine of closing out their payroll year. The (somewhat) tricky part of closing payroll is that you must print your W2 forms prior to updating Sage 100 ERP tax tables and beginning a new payroll year.

What most users have found works well for them is to create a separate newly created backup company within Sage 100 ERP (fka MAS90 or MAS200) and copy their  live company to the backup company (here’s how).

Once the data is copied you can close the live company and load tax tables and IRD (where required) for processing in 2013.

When ready to print the W2 forms simply use the backup company code created above (remember that in most cases you must first restore any changed FICA/Medicare limits).
