Is Sage Down For Anyone Else? How To Check Sage Online Service Status

September 14, 2017 by Wayne Schulz

Sage online status

As more of Sage’s services move online there’s a need for a common page to allow for checking specific Sage service statuses to see if they are online or experiencing a temporary service disruption.

This Sage Service Status page – https://trust.sage.com/ –  provides a status check for Sage North America, Sage Europe, Sage Asia Pacific, Sage South America and Sage Middle East and Africa online products.

According to a post by Sage:

If you use Sage online products, such as Sage 50c and Sage X3, or connected services, such as Sage Direct Deposit, you’ll want to bookmark https://Trust.Sage.com to have instant access to the latest availability status updates. If there is an outage, either planned or unplanned, this tool allows you to see the status of the online product or service immediately!! In addition, this site provides you with a calendar view showing any scheduled maintenance for your product or service – so you can plan ahead.

In North America, Sage presently lists statuses for the following online services:

  • Auto Update Service
  • Sage License Service
  • Sage One
  • Sage Cloud Enablement
  • Sage Drive
  • Sage Encore
  • Sage PayChoice
  • Sage PayChoice Online
  • Sage Time
  • Sage ID
  • Sage X3
  • Sage X3 – Sage Enterprise Intelligence
  • Sage X3 – Sage Intelligence
  • Sage 50c
  • My Workforce Analyzer
  • Pegg
  • Reverb
  • Sage 100 Direct Deposit
  • Sage 300 Direct Deposit
  • Sage 300 Online RDS
  • Sage 50 US Direct Deposit
  • Sage 50 US In-Product Messaging
  • Sage Cloud Portal
  • Sage Regulatory Reporting
  • Sage Construction Anywhere
  • Sage Bank Feeds
  • Sage Impact
  • Sage Integration Cloud
  • Sage Tracks
  • Sage User Management
  • Sage View
  • Sage 200

The status for Sage Payments is not included on this page though you can view the Sage Payments online status here. Similarly, you can view the service status for Sage Intacct at Sage Intacct Real-Time Status monitor.

Sage 100 Online vs Sage 100 Hosted By a Third Party

September 30, 2013 by Wayne Schulz

Are you considering whether to usage Sage 100 ERP on-premises (traditional) or would you like more information about having a third party such as Sage or an independent host provide the general back-end maintenance and server hosting?

Here’s a great summary PDF which provides you with information on what your Sage 100 cloud hosting options are. Especially impressive is the detail which this document goes into when describing the Sage hosted option vs a third party hosted option.

Both of these methods of hosting Sage 100 ERP in the cloud get you to the same destination. Whether you choose to have Sage host or a third party seems to largely depend upon how many users you’ll have (Sage seems to win for under 5 user implementations) and what modules (third party hosts win when you need to access non-framework modules or perform other tasks such as email statements from paperless office).

Email Scam Warning: Beware Of Friends Claiming To Be Trapped Overseas Needing Quick Money

October 10, 2012 by Wayne Schulz

This morning I awoke to the email below in my inbox. I immediately suspected that it was a scam because:

  1. It was from someone who I did not know well enough to be asking me for money
  2. The person claimed that their credit cards were stolen and they were being told by the hotel that they must settle their room charges before departing. Now I don’t know about you but it’s been a good 10 to 20 years since I’ve been to a hotel where they did not keep my credit card on file. In many cases the charges are even prepaid.

How does this scam work?

Someone’s email account is hacked – usually by tricking them into a bogus (but official looking) site that prompts them to enter their user name and password for their email account. This is quite often done in “pfishing” emails that seem valid but their intent is to steal your user name and password.

Once the email login and password has been stolen the hacker has full access to send out emails to anyone in the address book. Since these contacts likely know each other it’s far more likely  that a hack of this type might work on at least one or two unsuspecting friends.

Here’s The Email That Was Sent

From: xxxxxx
Date: Wed, Oct 10, 2012 at 7:24 AM
Subject: Awful Ordeal……xxxxxx (friend’s name)
To: Undisclosed recipients

Hello,

This message may be coming to you as a surprise but I need your help. Few days back we made an unannounced vacation trip to London, United Kingdom. Everything was going fine until last night when we got mugged on our way back to the hotel, all cash and credit card were stolen off us but luckily for us we still have our passports with us.

I’ve been to the Embassy and the Police here but they’re not helping issues at all they asked us to wait for 3 weeks but we can’t wait till then and our flight leaves in few hours from now but we’re having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won’t let us leave until we settle the hotel bills, Dealing with foreign authorities here is extremely frustrating, It would take us about 24 hours to get everything straighten out before we could leave, we are freaked out at the moment…I really need your financial assistance.

Please let me know if you could help us out financially?

What The Scammer Hopes Happens

The scam relies on you knowing the person who sent the email. They hope you will reply back (remember the scammer is in control of the email account) and at that point you’ll likely be given instructions to wire transfer funds urgently overseas.

If you do transfer funds – expect that will be the last you ever see of the money.

Your best bet is to contact your friend immediately by phone (do not reply to the compromised email) and verify the information.

Server Error 404 – File or Directory Not Found When Tracking Shipments Within MAS 90 or 200

January 5, 2012 by Wayne Schulz

When attempting to track shipments online from within Sage ERP MAS 90 or 200 the message “Server Error 404 – File or Directory Not Found” may appear. This seems to be an issue with the underlying web URL being changed so that when the link is clicked within MAS 90 or MAS 200 the Error 404 results.

Temporarily work around this by adding an “x” to the end of the url as shown below:

Expect MAS90 Online In Q4 2011 (Sage Summit 2011)

July 12, 2011 by Wayne Schulz

I went to the Sage Summit 2011 (the annual conference Sage hosts for business partners and customers) session yesterday on Sage MAS90 Online. Looks like it’s going to be a pretty good offering for a few reasons.

MAS90 Online is essentially Sage ERP MAS90 hosted in a data center in Atlanta and accessed through a Citrix remote connection.

The experience interacting with MAS90Online is essentially exactly the same as what you’d experience on a local desktop. The main difference is that there are some modules not yet available (payroll for one) and some restritions (no Crystal Reports creation/modification, no customizations, no custom office, no outbound email).

Note: Some of these details are subject to change

1. Pricing – they are still working on the pricing but here’s what I was able to jot down from the back of the room (I’ll update these if I get better information or a more complete pricing list).

All prices are per user per month

MAS90 169/user (concurrent)

UPDATE – The pricing below are for options. RCAL are named user licenses for Citrix which are only needed if more Citrix users are going to log in than the concurrent MAS user licenses you’ve purchased (the MAS $169/mo includes one RCAL).
RCAL 75 (named)
Bus care 20/user

3 databases include (companies)
$150 per database over 3
Up to 1 gb file (not MAS files) – personal files

No Sage MAS Intelligence yet

smi viewer $30
smi connector $50

Min 1 year
Monthly
3 year – get 10%
5% discount if prepaid

No minimum user count

2. Accounts provisioned typically within 2 hours

Presently the list of modules supported is basically those on framework. That means no payroll, MFG. Sage is still looking at that and I don’t think there’s a technical issue with offing non-framework modules but I’m not 100% sure (the room was packed yesterday and it was tough to ask questions).

For licensing reasons you won’t be able to do Crystal reports on this remote setup. The reports however can be done off-line and uploaded.

The database initially is Providex.

Due date – Q4 2011 with October 2011 repeatedly being mentioned.

The demo in class used the present Accpaconline site as an example of what the sign-up process for MAS90Online would be.

http://www.accpaconline.com/

Note – what we see as unique about this pricing model is there’s no minimum user count required to purchase. Other online accounting systems require not only a minimum user count but often that the full fee be prepaid in advance (they turn it into a monthly payment by financing it).

We’ll add more information as it’s available.
