This event will be held March 1 through 4, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency, Orlando, FL.

The focus looks to be partner only with content likely limited to the Sage X3 and Sage Intacct products.

Is Sage 100 cloud hosting right for you?

February 12, 2019 by Darcy Boerio

Sage 100 and Sage 100cloud (despite its name) are not inherently cloud-based. A server, whether physically located on-premise in your office or at a hosting facility, is required to run these products.

Historically, many Sage 100 users have had to incur the costs and headaches associated with maintaining their own local server in order to use Sage 100. But over time, more and more users have chosen to outsource this effort to a cloud hosting partner.

Seven benefits of Sage private cloud hosting with Summit Hosting:

    • Security –Keeping up with the latest security technology can be a full-time job. Are you doing all you can to prevent ransomware attacks like CryptoLocker and the like that can easily take down your entire business for days or weeks and cost tens of thousands of dollars? Encrypted logins, Two-Factor Authentication, and storage in a secure monitored data center are just a few of the measures Summit Hosting offers to keep your data secure.
    • Backups – Many Sage 100 users say backups are a source of stress for them. Hosting takes the burden off you by backing up your data daily and retaining backups for 15 days (or longer if needed).
    • Continuity – Summit Hosting customers enjoy 99.99% uptime of their servers.
    • Convenience – Access Sage 100 remotely from just about anywhere, on any device without being tied down to a traditional desktop in the office.
    • Disaster avoidance – No need to worry about the elements damaging your equipment. If your office experiences a disaster (flood, fire, robbery, power outage) your server will remain operable and accessible, so you can continue to run your business.
    • Reduced IT expense – IT hardware and labor can be costly, especially when your equipment fails. With hosting, there are no surprise capital expenditures, just predictable, cost-effective monthly payments.
    • Expert support – It’s important to be able to have your questions answered or hiccups resolved as quickly as possible. Summit Hosting provides 24/7/365 tech support – even on holidays and weekends – with a 97% satisfaction rating.

For over 10 years, Summit Hosting has been providing exceptional private cloud hosting to Sage 100 users on dedicated servers. We support all the major Sage 100 add-ons such as ScanForce, StarShip, Sage Inventory Advisor, CIMcloud by Website Pipeline, and more.

Contact us today with any questions or to receive a quote to move your Sage 100 solution to the cloud – we’re always happy to help!

Cloud Hosting – Additional ERP and Integrated Applications Supported

In addition to Sage 100, Summit Hosting can also provide hosting services for a wide variety of accounting systems.

If you are using Sage with one or more integrations (shipping, warehouse, reporting, EDI, etc) those can usually all be accommodated on a hosted platform.

Is Sage Down For Anyone Else? How To Check Sage Online Service Status

September 14, 2017 by Wayne Schulz

As more of Sage’s services move online there’s a need for a common page to allow for checking specific Sage service statuses to see if they are online or experiencing a temporary service disruption.

This Sage Service Status page – https://trust.sage.com/ –  provides a status check for Sage North America, Sage Europe, Sage Asia Pacific, Sage South America and Sage Middle East and Africa online products.

According to a post by Sage:

If you use Sage online products, such as Sage 50c and Sage X3, or connected services, such as Sage Direct Deposit, you’ll want to bookmark https://Trust.Sage.com to have instant access to the latest availability status updates. If there is an outage, either planned or unplanned, this tool allows you to see the status of the online product or service immediately!! In addition, this site provides you with a calendar view showing any scheduled maintenance for your product or service – so you can plan ahead.

In North America, Sage presently lists statuses for the following online services:

  • Auto Update Service
  • Sage License Service
  • Sage One
  • Sage Cloud Enablement
  • Sage Drive
  • Sage Encore
  • Sage PayChoice
  • Sage PayChoice Online
  • Sage Time
  • Sage ID
  • Sage X3
  • Sage X3 – Sage Enterprise Intelligence
  • Sage X3 – Sage Intelligence
  • Sage 50c
  • My Workforce Analyzer
  • Pegg
  • Reverb
  • Sage 100 Direct Deposit
  • Sage 300 Direct Deposit
  • Sage 300 Online RDS

  • Sage Regulatory Reporting
  • Sage Construction Anywhere
  • Sage Bank Feeds
  • Sage Impact

The status for Sage Payments is not included on this page though you can view the Sage Payments online status here. Similarly, you can view the service status for Sage Intacct at Sage Intacct Real-Time Status monitor.

Sage 100 Roadmap – May 2017

May 15, 2017 by Wayne Schulz

I’ve just returned from Sage Summit in Atlanta. This is a trip I had not expected to make but last minute plans were changed and I found myself on a plane to Atlanta where I  spent the better part of three days commuting by foot between the Hilton Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center, home of Sage Summit 2017 – Atlanta.

Sage Summit Road Ahead For Sage 100 and Sage 100c

Here’s a summary of the two-part session hosted by Sage to showcase planned developments for Sage 100 and Sage 100c. Before I begin, realize that the timeline and even features may change between now and the forecasted shipping date. Some features may be deferred or even dropped while others may be added.

Key Announcements:

Job Cost is moving to the framework (ETA Sage 100 v2018 due October 2017) – a quick self-running demo was given of what is referred to as Job Cost 2.0. From those who have seen the update in more detail, it has been described as more of a migration than a big re-write.

Payroll is also moving to the framework (ETA Sage 100 v2018 due October 2017). This is a project that was started not last Sage Summit but the one before. Sage have thrown a lot of  engineering power at this project which is believed to be one of their biggest internal programming efforts (Job Cost 2.0 was reportedly completed by one of Sage’s third party Master Developers)

Work Order is not yet scheduled to be upgraded to the framework but discussions have begun about who will do the upgrade and on what timeframe.

The remainder of the enhancements spotlighted on the roadmap appears to be integrations that will hook into Sage 100 or Sage 100c.

Sage 100 v2017.2 – ETA June 2017

  • Payroll 2.0 Limited Release
  • eInvoicing with Sage Payments Center
  • Beanworks AP Automation
  • Saget Budgeting & Planning integration

Sage 100 v2018.0 – ETA October 2017

  • Payroll 2.0 Generally Available
  • Bank Reconciliation- Auto Bank Feed
  • Office 365 Contacts Integration
  • Job Cost 2.0 Released
  • Inactive Warehouse Option

Sage 100 v2018.1 – ETA February 2018

  • Timecard to Framework
  • e-Commerce (Details TBD but likely third party integration)
  • Point-Of-Sale (Details TBD but likely third party integration)
  • BOTS – KPI Bots
  • Paperless Office to Office 365

What was shown during Sage Summit was very high level. There were few demos in the road ahead itself. In the final shipping versions it’s likely we will see further smaller enhancements that Sage have not listed on their larger roadmap.

These enhancements will be available to everyone who is active on a Sage 100 maintenance or Sage 100c subscription plan.

Sage Updates List of Supported Workstation and Network Operating System Configurations for Sage 100 v2017 and v2016

January 31, 2017 by Wayne Schulz

Sage released an updated Supported Platform Matrix for their Sage 100 versions 2017 and 2016. These documents outline the supported workstation and network operating system configurations officially supported by Sage.

There has been no updated document for versions prior to 2016 which confirms my belief that Sage is now effectively supporting the current and one prior version through active product updates and critical support documents such as the Supported Platform Matrix (SPM).

Sage Supported Platform Matrix is broken into these sections:

  • Supported Workstations for Sage 100 and Sage 100c
  • Supported Servers for Sage 100 and Sage 100c
  • SageCRM Supported Servers
  • Remote Desktop Services/Citrix Supported Servers

Download a revised copy of the Sage 100 Supported Platforms Matrix for v2016 or v2017 from here.
