Sage has just posted an updated knowledgeable article 89164 which outlined 5 different resolutions to a Crystal Reports version incompatibility between Sage Fixed Assets 2018 and Sage 100 versions earlier than 2018.
The incompatibility can arise when the Crystal Reports version used is not identical between these two products.
Error messages which can occur:
Error:”Unable to cast COM object…” when printing any report on Sage 100 2017 and prior versions, after installing Sage Fixed Assets Client 2018.1
Error:”Unable to cast COM object of type ‘CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.ReportSourceClass’ to interface type ‘CrytsalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.ISCRReportSource’.
This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID ‘{98CDE168-C1BF-4179-BE4C-F2CFA7CB8398}’failed due to the following error:
No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT:0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).
Sage 100 Crystal Incompatibility Fixes
- Upgrade Sage 100 to version 2018
Sage 100 2018 include Crystal Report Runtime SP21 - Select the 2016-2017 version of Sage 100 configuration from the chart below see resolution
First, review this chart and note the version of Sage 100 and the type of installation (Note that only supported versions are listed):
Then, using the resolution number from the chart, follow the suggested fix below:
