How To Enable Credit Card Swipe in Sage 100 ERP

The question of how to enable credit card swipe readers within Sage 100 ERP 2013 recently was asked in my 90 Minds group. As you may know one of the big features of the Sage Exchange integration with Sage 100 ERP 2013 is the ability to swipe credit cards natively through the software.

This swiping generally also allows your company to receive lower rates because having a physical credit card present lowers the possibility of charge fraud

In order to get the swiping feature to work in Sage 100 ERP 2013 you must follow two steps (possibly a third if you need updated card swipe drivers):

1. Within your Sage Exchange program (which should be minimized in the task bar and activated by a right click and clicking settings) enable the Magensa Card Swipe listed under Credit Card Devices.

Your Sage Exchange interface will reboot an you will then be able to swipe credit cards in your Sage 100 ERP Sales  Order module.

Have You PCI Complied? Simple One Step That May Remove $25/mo Non-Compliance Fees

One of the members of my 90 Minds Group had a great recommendation yesterday.

His customer was reviewing the annual charges for credit card processing when he noticed a monthly $25 fee for non-compliance with PCI requirements. Upon questioning Sage

Payment Services, this is the response that they received:
I noticed you are paying a $25 Non Compliance fee each month. In order to remove this, please go to: https://pci.trustwave.com/action.php to obtain your PCI DSS certification. Once you are certified, we will be automatically notified, and the $25 monthly fee will stop. If you have any PCI questions or need help navigating through that site, please call our 24 hour help desk at 800-239-2468.

 

 

Recommendation:

If you are using Sage Payments for processing of credit card and other payments – check your statement. If you are receiving a $25/mo fee for non-compliance – be sure to visit the link above to self-assess and possibly remove that fee.

Sage Payments Renewal Email: It’s A Fake – Don’t Click That Link

Several partners have advised that at least some of their customers received an email claiming to be from Sage Payments which instructed the recipient to login online to renew their SPS account.

This was a bogus email and customers should be instructed to disregard it. It appears that Sage may have sent out a notice to at least some partners a few days ago advising them of the fake email.

Here’s a partial copy of the text within the email.

Subject: Annual Agreement Update – Sage Payments

Dear Sage Payments customer, you need to renew your annual agreement
with Sage. Failure to do so will result with your account status set to
-INACTIVE-, only test transactions will be possible. Download your
personal login page from this email and continue.

Sage just announced a promotion that might be of interest to some existing users of Sage ERP MAS 90 or 200 who’ve let their maintenance lapse.

For a limited time Sage is offering 50% off Clientcare reinstatement, a $500 credit toward monthly payment transaction fees and the Sage ERP MAS 90 or 200 Credit Card Processing module at no cost.

UPDATE: This promo applies to customers on at least version 4.10 of Sage ERP MAS 90 or 200. Computation of back maintenance is up to 2 years prior maintenance plus one year forward (which you can put onto Easy Pay  using your bank account as a drafting source with monthly installments).

The SPS promotion is 50% off the software update (lapsed fees) for a new SPS sign up. Sage is targeting customers whose last version shipped is 4.1. It is available to clients whose last version shipped is 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4. Here is how it works.

· 1/4/11 email campaign went to off plan 4.1 customers

· If the customer, off plan signs a 3 yr agreement with SPS, Sage will provide a 50% discount on the software update of their reinstatement.

· Customer will get Credit Card processing module at no charge (annual maintenance will apply)

· Up to $50/month for the first 10 months off transaction fees.

· Must start transacting within 90 days of acceptance.

· Applies to either integrated or non integrated solutions,(but discounts are different)
