Sage Summit 2020 Location Announced for May 12-14, 2020

July 11, 2019 by Wayne Schulz

We’ve received many inquiries about where and when Sage would host their Sage Summit 2020 event in the United States.

Sage Announces Sage Summit Orlando Location – May 2020

While the location(s) initially mentioned included both west and east coast locations it appears that Sage has decided on Florida as the location for their mid-market flagship event in 2020.

Tip: Subscribe to our Sage 100 Newsletter to stay updated on the latest Sage 100 news and events throughout the year.

The event website indicates Sage Summit US will be hosted May 12-14, 2020 at the Gaylord Palms Orlando.

This hotel has previously held Sage Summit events and has the capacity to hold groups significantly larger than the last few Sage Summit events.

Note from Sage: Sage Summit US, May 12-14, 2020, is for small and medium-sized businesses, not the Sage X3 audience. The Sage Partner Summit, March 2-4, 2020, will be held for Sage X3 partners only.

According to the Sage Summit US website:

Our largest event series is coming to Orlando in 2020. Save the date for Sage Summit US, your opportunity to learn, connect, and grow with the Sage ecosystem. Sage Summit US brings Sage customers, partners, and accountants from around the country together for multiple days of deeper learning, product training, thought leadership, and networking to help your business thrive.

You can expect inspiring speakers that lead impactful conversations, dedicated networking opportunities to share ideas, best practices, and knowledge, and future-thinking technology from Sage and our ecosystem.

Additional details including agenda, speakers, and more will be coming later this year.

It’s still early in the planning process so undoubtedly we will see more details prior to the event date.

The Gaylord hotels are larger venues that seem to indicate Sage is leaning back toward hosting larger events in central locations versus a series of smaller sessions.

Sage Summit Atlanta Agenda Released

February 18, 2019 by Wayne Schulz

Sage has updated their event website for the upcoming Sage Summit 2019 – Atlanta event ( May 13-15, 2019 – Hyatt Regency). While Sage previously stated the agenda between their Sage Summit San Diego event and their Sage Summit Atlanta would be identical, I did spot a few minor differences.

Sage Summit – Atlanta – Partner Day

First, on the Atlanta partner day – May 13, 2019 (Partners, Sponsors, and Accountant Network Members Only) there is a session with Gary Boomer titled Workshop for Accountants. There isn’t much detail on this session however this is likely content complementary to the Sage Accountants Network (SAN) Client Advisory Services (CAS) Program.

The partner day agenda may be downloaded directly from the Sage Summit Atlanta website – here.

Sage Summit Atlanta – Customer and Partner Days Agenda

Day two and three include a nearly identical agenda to what was presented in San Diego. Some titles have been slightly changed but the overall content appears to be the same. Perhaps the biggest change is that Sage has added roughly a half-dozen additional sponsor exhibitors giving an even better opportunity for attendees to learn about integrated products or services of interest.

The full agenda for Sage Summit Atlanta – Day 2 and 3 is available for download here.

Sage Summit Atlanta – Sponsor List

The Sage Summit Atlanta sponsor list is larger than the San Diego event. While Sage Summit San Diego’s agenda showed 27 sponsors, the agenda for Atlanta is current showing 33 sponsor exhibitors.

According to the Exhibitor Prospectus posted on Sage’s site and used to provide sponsorship information, the expected Atlanta Attendance is 1,500+

The following sponsor exhibitors are expected in Atlanta:

Sage Summit Atlanta Platinum Sponsors

  • Scanco – Bar Code, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing
  • TrueCommerce – EDI

Sage Summit Atlanta Gold Sponsors

  • Aatrix – e-Filing
  • Altec – Document management
  • Avalara – Sales Tax
  • Paya – Credit Cards
  • Sage Summit Atlanta Silver Sponsors
  • Blytheco – Sage Partner
  • Certipro – Inventory
  • DSD Business Systems – Sage Partner
  • MAPADOC / SPS Commerce – EDI
  • Net@Work – Sage Partner
  • SWK Technologies – Sage Partner

Sage Summit Bronze Sponsors

  • Centage – EDI
  • cimcloud – e-commerce integrated to Sage 100
  • DataSelf BI – Business Intelligence
  • Delphia Consulting – Sage HRMS
  • Dimension Funding – Financing/leasing options for Sage
  • edisoft – EDI
  • GotoMyERP – Cloud hosting

Sage Summit San Diego 2019 Wrap-Up

February 15, 2019 by Wayne Schulz

Sage Summit San Diego is wrapping up today. The three-day event held February 13-15, 2019 was the first Sage Summit branded event since Atlanta in May 2017.

Sage Summit 2019:  San Diego and Atlanta

During 2018 Sage held a series of “mini-Summits” which they branded as Sage Sessions. The first of these was held in Los Angeles which I attended and reviewed here – Sage Sessions 2018 – Los Angeles Highlights and Recap.

Sage Summit San Diego featured a partner day followed by 1-1/2 days for customers. I was unable to attend this Sage Summit, however, what follows is my analysis based upon a close review of the Twitter activity throughout the 2-1/2 days.

Sage Summit San Diego – Partner Day – February 13, 2019

Partner day one opening welcome was delivered by Sage North America Managing Director Nancy Harris.  About 200 partners were present at this event to learn more about Sage’s vision for 2019.  After a brief introduction, things kicked off to the executives in charge of Sage’s channel partners.

The kickoff session was led by Sage North America VP Partner Strategy & Sales, Scott Ehmen, and Sage EVP Partners, Accountants & Alliances Jennifer Warawa.

Key takeaways:

  • The market is changing
  • Sage is committed to becoming a great SaaS company
  • Specialization is a key to future growth

The remainder of partner day one included various marketing presentations as well as a partner panel where Sage announced the expansion of their Partner Advocate program with DSD Business Systems being one of the Sage VARS who will join.

Sage Summit San Diego – Customer Day February 14-15, 2019

About 700 people reportedly attended day two which kicked off with Sage MD Nancy Harris interviewing Tarryn The Tax Lady who gave an inspirational discussion of how she got her start in business and presumably the role Sage played.

You can view the detailed agenda of Sage Summit San Diego to get a better idea on the topics discussed.

Once the opening session was complete the remaining sessions went into more depth on the Sage 100 platform.

The opening slide showed the current status of Sage 100cloud – including a customer count of 20,000+ users.

Sage Senior Product Marketing Manager Timothy Harfield and Sage Product Manager Linda Cade provided a review of the road ahead for Sage 100.

The biggest announcement for Sage 100 and Sage 100cloud was the addition of newly updated manufacturing modules. Work Order and MRP are now at the framework. This means that advanced methods of scripting now work with those modules. The ability to run these modules on Sage 100cloud Premium (aka SQL) is now a possibility.

Expect to see these new and updated modules rolling out starting with the March 2019 planned release of Sage 100cloud 2019.

Also announced is a lower licensing cost for certain types of Sage 100 Production Management licenses.

With the March 2019 release comes an expanded set of options for manufacturing with Sage 100cloud

Paperless Office is due for some enhancements.  Soon you’ll be able to include email attachments and make use of the CC and BCC fields as well as copy a salesperson on invoices sent to their customers.

New “Grad Caps” are coming with Sage 100cloud 2019. These are similar to context-sensitive online-help except they lead to anytime learning options on Sage University which are directly related to the task on screen.

Sage’s integration with Office 365 – aka Sage Contact –  has been enhanced to include vendor information.

Sage Summit – San Diego also featured a scaled back trade show with dozens of Sage ISVs there to discuss their products in-depth.

Dan Rodriguez of ScanForce was manning their display and available to answer questions from anyone interested in Warehouse Management for Sage 100.

Overall, Sage Summit San Diego seemed to more closely match Sage Sessions than the larger Sage Summit conferences of past. This may be a worthwhile conference for anyone who is a user of Sage products or who are considering becoming a user. The exhibition area is much less hectic which means you have plenty of time to talk to any exhibitor whose products you are considering.

The next Sage Summit is in Atlanta May 13-15, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency hotel.

Sage Sessions Review: Los Angeles February 13, 2018

February 27, 2018 by Wayne Schulz

Earlier this year Sage announced that in 2018 instead of holding larger Sage Summit customer conferences they would have a series of regional events.

A total of 10 North America Sage Sessions are scheduled with 6 scheduled in U.S.A and 4 in Canada. Many of our customers have been curious about the format of Sage Sessions and whether it’s an event they should attend.

Read More: Sage Sessions 2018 Review

What Is Sage Sessions?

As described by Sage:

“the best of Sage with a series of regional events throughout the U.S. and Canada, called Sage Sessions. Our goal is to meet our customers and partners where they do business.”

Each stop offers a full-day event with a keynote, breakout sessions, and a networking reception—and provide time for you to host your customer appreciation and other activities

DSD Business Systems was at the first Sage Sessions in Los Angeles with a booth displaying our enhancements for Sage 100.

We took lots of notes so we could share and compare Sage Sessions to Sage Summit.

Sage Sessions 2018 Review

We summarized the thoughts of all 9 DSD Business Systems staffers who attended to answer the question – Is this an event you should attend?
