How to delete forms and reports in Sage 100 ERP

June 20, 2012 by Wayne Schulz

Version(s): 4.x

Problem / Description:

How can form codes be deleted in Sage 100?

In some cases deleting them from the Library Master – Setup – Report Manager does NOT remove them from the list of available forms in various tasks (i.e. Check Printing)

In some cases these forms aren’t listed in Report Manager so it’s not possible to try to delete them

Resolution:

References to the form code must be removed manually:

  1. Expand Modules, Library Master, and Utilities. Double-click Data File Display and Maintenance (DFDM).
  2. In the File Name field, select the …\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_ReportSetting.M4T file.
  3. Delete the key associated with the form code. Repeat this step for the following files:
  4. SY_ReportOption.M4T
  5. SY_LastFormUsed.M4T
  6. In Windows Explorer, browse to the …\MAS90\MAS_xxx\Reports\ folder.
  7. Delete the folder associated with the form code.

Note: Review the SY_Company file in DFDM and match the Company Key with the company name to determine the correct records to delete. As always, make a backup prior to making changes to files in DFDM.

Where Are Forms And Reports Stored in Sage 100 ERP?

May 25, 2012 by Wayne Schulz

Have you ever wondered where Sage stores the forms and reports used by the program? This information can be handy to know if you are modifying these forms/reports outside of the Sage 100 ERP program

Heres the scoop:

– The original standard forms and reports are in \MAS90\REPORTS

– After a STANDARD form or report is printed – they are stored in \MAS90\MAS_XXX\REPORTS\NAME\STANDARD (Where XXX = the there character Sage 100 ERP company code).

– Forms or reports that you save to a different code are stored in \MAS90\MAS_XXX\FORM OR REPORT NAME\FORM OR REPORT CODE

– LEGACY MODULES:

– Original forms are in \MAS90\REPORTS

– After printing – \MAS90\REPORTS\###-### (all users, all companies)

– After printing – \MAS90\REPORTS\###-XXX (all users, specific companies)

Sage 100 ERP Custom Reports Not Migrating During Upgrade- v4.5+

April 21, 2012 by Wayne Schulz

If you are upgrading from an earlier version of Sage 100 ERP to v4.5 you might notice that your \reports\###-### and \reports\###-XXX (where XXX is the company code) might not migrate from the earlier version of Sage 100.

Here’s a copy of a post I made about two weeks ago on the Sage 100 ERP LinkedIn Group. This gathered quite a few references from consultants who’d run into the same thing.

The \reports\###-### folder holds modified forms for non-framework modules and some custom reports which users have attached to their menus.

Until resolved , the workaround is to manually copy this folder from your older Sage 100 implementation.

Modify Sage 100 and Sage100cloud menus with this cool hidden utility

March 23, 2009 by Wayne Schulz

Changing a Sage 100 menu used to be – well – impossible.
At least that’s what I thought until half an hour ago when super consultant Dawn Anastasi of CG Consulting threw this little tip out.

To change your menus (hide, re-order, rename) in Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 version 4.x+ use the hidden SY_MENU_UI utility.

This works for any menu – including those pesky Custom Report menus that have a nasty tendency of dropping your reports in a random order.

Changing (move, rename, delete) Menu Selections in Sage 100cloud

The steps to change your MAS 90 or MAS 200 menu are so simple — once you know Dawn’s secret.

It relies upon being able to access the File – Run menu from within MAS (if you’re not able to do this you probably need to verify security rights and make sure you have access to this menu choice).

First start up MAS 90 or MAS 200. Select the File menu and then the Run option.

From the dialog box that appears, type in SY_MENU_UI and click OK.

You’ll be presented with the following dialog box.

From this dialog box you can drag a menu choice from one location to another:

Once you’ve found the spot where you want to the new item to reside – simply drop.

Rename MAS 90 Menu Items

If you double click on a menu selection you’ll have the ability to rename the item as illustrated below.

Reminders:

This tip works on version 4.x

You must have security rights to the File – Run menu in order to have been allowed access to the utility (this is set up in Library Master – Main – Role Maintenance).
