One of the most common questions we hear from our customers is around moving Sage 100 from one server to another. As hardware ages and requires replacement it is not unusual for an IT department to upgrade the accounting department’s server systems. Naturally this also requires that each application is migrated off the old server(s) to a new server(s).
Sage have created an excellent document that tells you how to move your Sage 100 ERP (formerly MAS 90 or MAS 200) to a new server. There are some missing tidbits of information – such as failing to remind you that you might have to reinstall workstation setup if the new location is not the same drive mapping or not recommending you check your Paperless Office setup.
This is one of the more complete guides that I’ve seen and starts at version 3.x of MAS 90 and MAS 200 and works all the way through Sage 100 ERP 2013. Each version has it’s own set of specific instructions.
Worth a look!
