It’s almost that time of year when you’ll need to close the books within Sage 100 or Sage 100cloud.
Luckily, no matter which “flavor” of Sage 100 you are using the procedure is identical.
Before beginning any closing process I suggest you create an additional backup of your data to storage that is not permanently connected to your network. Inexpensive detachable USB drives work great for these type of impromptu backups.
This 15-minute video walks you through the process of closing and explains many of the frequently asked questions as well as demonstrating an additional way to make a quick backup within Sage ( we still recommend a separate backup which is stored off-site).
As part of your year-end closing we recommend you also consider:
Scheduling an upgrade with your partner ( Sage typically actively supports each version for about 18 months ( check this list of Supported Sage 100 Versions ) so if you haven’t upgraded recently you should consider scheduling a time for the upgrade). Review this handy list of What’s New In Sage 100 Versions 4.4 to 2019 for more info on the latest features added to each release.
Review your credit card processing fees to see if there are any additional savings to be gained by changing credit card processors. There are several different credit card processors compatible with Sage 100.
Talk with your Sage partner about whether any third-party integrations would be helpful for your use in the coming year.
