MAS200 Version 4.3 Released

The latest Sage MAS90 and MAS200 upgrade has been shipped to users. Those who are active on a Sage Software Basic Maintenance plan will receive their upgrades within the next few weeks.

We are presently going through our MAS90 customer list and within the next month will start scheduling appointments to install this new upgrade.

Here are some frequently asked questions that we’ve received from our MAS90 clients.

Should we install this MAS90 upgrade or wait?
We recommend taking a month to gather feedback from the early adopters of any software upgrade. We’ll be in touch with all of our telephone support subscribers to discuss the timing for installation of this new upgrade. If you decide to do this upgrade yourself, please be sure to perform a test upgrade first. Never install an upgrade over your live data without testing it first.

We are using Extended Solutions, can we still install this upgrade?
If you have enhancements of any type (including Sage’s popular Extended Solutions) – you must wait for your enhancements to be upgraded prior to installing MAS90 version 4.3.

How long will it take for a consultant to install my upgrade?
For those of you on version 4.2 – the upgrade time will be minimal (typically under 1/2 day for those companies with under 10 total users – and from a day to two days for those over 10 users). The time that is required to install the upgrade is also very dependent upon the level that you are upgrading from. The more current the release level – the less time it takes to upgrade. We also build in more of a testing phase for larger sized companies – which is why the time estimate is more depending upon the number of users.

I am not enrolled in Sage Software’s Basic Maintenance Plan – can I buy the upgrade disks separately?
Unfortunately, no, Sage Software requires that you be enrolled in their Basic Software Maintenance plan in order to receive any upgrades. They do not sell the upgrades piecemeal.

Will my company’s Crystal Reports, Visual Integrator Jobs and User Defined Fields have to be upgraded?
Not if you are upgrading from version 4.2. Earlier versions of Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 will need to have custom Crystal Reports, Visual Integrator Jobs and User Defined Fields upgraded.

What’s your hourly rate so I know about how much the upgrade time will cost?
Our rate is $195 per hour. You can save money by purchasing time in prepaid bundles. We charge $140 per hour for 40 hour blocks of prepaid time or $125 per hour if prepaid in 80 hour blocks.

Will Schulz Consulting install my upgrades even if they are not listed as my official reseller of record?
Yes, though please realize that any Schulz Consulting phone support is rendered only via a prepaid telephone agreement.

What about software bugs? Does Schulz Consulting fix those for free?
Software bugs encountered during the upgrade process are anticipated when we quote our estimated hours. We bill for all consulting time on-site whether it is for upgrading, training or support.
