Sage 100 Advance and Premium both use a service enabled on your server which allows for managing some of the processing.
This requires that your workstations have the ability to connect to the server. Sometimes there are issues with higher security sites where the firewall might block some traffic.
Sage has a detailed knowledgebase article 105259 listing the detailed configuration changes you may need to make to your firewall so Sage 100 can connect.
