How To Edit Lot/Serial UDF Fields in Sage 100 ERP

Starting with v4.4 of Sage 100 ERP you can create user defined fields (aka UDFs) without needing third party enhancements. What you cannot do is edit those fields from your Sage 100 ERP main panel. If you need to edit the Lot/Serial user defined fields you’ll need to use Business Objects Interface (BOI) scripting or purchase IM Lot/Serial UDF Edit from DSD Business Systems.

This enhancement also has a great manual which will walk you through the UDF setup process step by step – including screen shots of each custom office screen you’ll need to edit.

Alert: DSD SQL Mirroring & Sage ERP MAS 90 and 200 – v4.4 PU 7

We just received this notice from DSD Business Systems that Sage’s product update 7 for MAS 90 and MAS 200 apparently has some changes rendering DSD’s popular SQL Mirroring product incompatible in some way.

Here’s the notice:
November 22, 2011

It has come to our attention that Sage’s Product Update 7 for MAS90 Version 4.40 has a major change to the Providex DLL that causes an incompatibility with SQL Mirroring. DSD is working hard to resolve the issue with Sage and PVX Plus. Please do not install Product Update 7 if you have SQL Mirroring installed at version 4.40 until DSD has resolved the incompatibility problem.

DSD Business Systems will send out another Important Announcement once the issue has been resolved and the DSD Website is updated with the new 4.40P7 Version of SQL Mirroring

Multi-Company AP, AR and GL for MAS90 – 15% off through 2/28/2010

Running multiple companies within MAS90 or MAS200 is easy. The software natively supports as many company codes as you would like to setup – with no additional charge.

The trick is that really big companies often want to run a lot of very small separate MAS90 companies but manage them from one master company.

Confused yet?

Think of it as a parent / child company. The parent pays all the bills but the child still accounts for the expense.

Without an enhancement you would need to manually account for this within MAS 90 or MAS 200 through hours of backbreaking labor (or if not back breaking – it would surely be tedious).

DSD Business Systems Offers Multi-Company Solutions for MAS90 and MAS200

A/P Multi-Company ($2,500) allows a managing company’s Accounts Payable department to process A/P transactions for an unlimited number of “subsidiary” companies. Invoices can be distributed to other companies that have a General Ledger database. Each line item entry of an Invoice contains a new Company Code field. This new field defaults to the current Company – it may be changed to any other company that has been set-up for inter-company processing.

G/L Multi-Company ($2,750) is designed to allow a managing company to process G/L transactions for an unlimited number of “subsidiary” companies. GLMU is compatible with DSD APMU. They can be used together or separately.

G/L Multi-Company Consolidation ($1,750) has been created for firms that run more than one company on their Sage MAS 90 or Sage MAS 200 system and who require combined and separate financial reporting. This enhancement will automate that process using the standard or custom financials. The General Ledger Chart of Accounts must be the same across companies. GLCN is also available for use with our Multi-Currency/International General Ledger enhancement.

G/L Account Copy by Company ($1,910) allows new General Ledger accounts to be copied to other companies during G/L Account Maintenance. There is also an option to update the other company Chart of Accounts when a change is made to an existing account.

G/L Daily Transaction Register ($1,325)by Companies allows the General Ledger user the ability to Print and update the Daily Transaction Register for multiple companies at once.

Extended Solution Upgrade Path Announced By DSD Business Systems of San Diego

Sage have recently announced that they’ll be incorporating some of their Extended Solutions catalog into release 4.4 (due first quarter 2010) and the remainder will be provided as open source programming code.

The open source nature of the code means that qualified Master Developers will have the ability to upgrade the Extended Solutions not included in version 4.4 of MAS 90 or MAS 200.
