One question frequently asked by IT administrators and users is what level of Internet access is required by Sage 100cloud? Depending upon what portions of Sage 100 or Sage 100cloud are in use you’ll need varying degrees of Internet access both to your server and potentially to your users’ workstations.

Sage 100 and Sage 100cloud activation and registration URL requirements
Sage 100 and Sage 100cloud versions can automatically update keys. Reportedly Advanced keys are valid for both Standard and Advanced while Premium keys are valid only for premium:

Versions 5.20.3 (2015.3), 5.20.4 (2015.4), 5.30.1 (2016.1) will have the ability to update the payroll expiration date with the Update button by installing the Hot Fixes based on version KB 83158 ( https://goo.gl/NnlQbY ).
The Sage License Server (SLS) currently requires TLS v1.0 or 1.1

Requires direct Internet Access. Use of a proxy may impact athe bility to register the product.
1. First find out about your proxy setting, the best way to eliminate errors is to copy proxy setting from Internet explorer
2. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options
3. Select the Connections tab and then select LAN Settings
4. Note the proxy settings in your Internet Explorer.
5. Open Sage Intelligence License Manager
6. Select File, Configure Internet Connection
7. In the Internet Access Type drop down list, select Proxy
8. Click Apply
9. Enter the Proxy Server Address and Port
10. Click Apply
11. If you are required to enter a login, select YES from the Prompt for Proxy logon and click Apply
12. Click OK and continue with registration
