Sage 100c features a refreshed modern user interface. This UI is available to those who purchase (new) or upgrade to the new Sage 100c. If you are imply upgrading to Sage 100 2016, you continue using the classic desktop.
Important: This is only an issue with Sage 100 version 2016 which is the only version with this new user interface.
Unfortunately, there appears to be a bug which appears during workstation setup. If you have not licensed Sage 100c you will still be presented with the option to use either the classic or standard desktop.
If a user selects the standard desktop by mistake and is not licensed for 100c they may find themselves unable to navigate.
Fortunately, there’s a way to undo this change. It’s not especially well documented by Sage support but I’ve found that it works 100% of the time.
First, close down Sage 100 on the user desktop which has the interface you need to change.
On the LOCAL COMPUTER navigate to the c:\users\{user name|\My Documents\Sage 100 folder.
Delete (or rename) the \Sage 100 folder.
Restart Sage 100 on the workstation and you will once again be prompted for the user interface. If you have not licensed Sage 100c, then select CLASSIC as the interface. Here’s What’s New In Sage 100 and Sage 100c Version 2016
