Slow response typing values in Account No, Customer No, Item No, or Vendor No data entry fields with basic auto-complete enabled after 2020.3 or 2021.1 updates installed.

If you are on Sage 100 v2020.3 or 2021.1 and experience slow screen responses when entering data into the general ledger account number, accounts receivable customer number, inventory item number or accounts payable vendor number fields then Sage likely has a program fix.

According to this KB entry:

After updating Sage 100 2020 to product update 3 or Sage 100 2021 to product update 1, on data entry screens featuring Account No, Customer No, Vendor No, or Item No, there is a very slow response/pause as characters typed are displayed if the customer does not have Advanced Search enabled for auto-complete. NOTE: this is different issue from performance issue with screens being slow to load initially.

This issue only impacts two specific versions – Sage 100 version 2020 with product update 3 or Sage 100 version 2021 2ith product update 1.

Slow Lookup Speed in Sage 100

There are two recommended solutions to work around this issue:

  1. Enable advanced search for auto-complete by running build search index utility

2. De-select the auto-complete option in user maintenance for the users experiencing this issue

Hot-Fixes Available To Resolve Slow Lookup

Sage has issued two hot fixes to resolve the above issue. These fixes are also slated to be incorporated in the next product update for versions 2020 and 2021 expected September 2021.
