Your Sage 100 subscription has expired. You can continue using the software for 45 days. Please contact Sage before xx/xx/xxxx to renew your subscription

July 27, 2017 by Wayne Schulz

We’ve received calls from users of Sage 100c reporting that their system suddenly prompts with the message. This has also been happening with payroll subscription users and the cause seems to be the same.

Sage 100c Expiration Message

Your Sage 100 subscription has expired. You can continue using the software for 45 days. Please contact Sage before xx/xx/xxxx to renew your subscription.

This seems to be occurring even when the subscription has not expired.

This Sage knowledgebase article explains the reasoning behind the message:

Monthly plans renew on the evening update of the monthly expiration date unless there are issues with the payment. This was changed on versions 2016.4 and 2017.1 to not pop the message until after the plan has actually expired giving time for the next month billing to update the system.

Sage 100 and Sage 100c Payroll Expiration Message

Similar to the message being sent to Sage 100c subscribers, payroll users may also see the following alert:

Your payroll subscription has expired you can continue processing payroll for 45 days. Please contact Sage before xx/xx/xxxx to renew your subscription

This Sage Knowledgebase article # 106789 explains the reasoning behind the message which is essentially the same issue as above.

Monthly plans renew on the evening update of the monthly expiration date unless there are issues with the payment. This was changed on versions 2016.4 and 2017.1 to not pop the message until after the plan has actually expired giving time for the next month billing to update the system.

If you have any questions or need to renew your Payroll subscription plan, please contact Sage Sales Advisor at 800-854-3415 before the date noted in the error message.

For both reported errors the resolution seems to be to install the latest product update for Sage 100 or Sage 100c. If you are not on a current release of Sage 100/Sage 100c then this would be a good time to plan your upgrade so you can be eligible for product update fixes.
