I had an upgrade this weekend where the user upgraded from Sage 100 v4.40 to Sage 100 v2016.
I had installed v2016 PU2 and the end user was testing 100c v2016 but had not yet gone live.
While in the process of upgrading (testing, etc) the user chose to migrate licensing from 100 to 100c
Sage (probably Sage Advisor) automatically updated the registration keys which converted the customer from Sage 100 to Sage 100c and also removed licenses and modules they were no longer entitled to.
I think this is normal processing for Sage 100v 2016 going forward.
I’m sure that we’ll learn more about the quirks of how this automatic registration works as we move forward.
For now, take care whenever you migrate to 100c or add/remove modules and know that the keys will likely automatically update and you may not be able to override them.
