On occasion the Activity Log for Sage 100 can grow to a size where it slows down system performance or even produces errors. With version 4.4 and earlier there was no automated way to reinitialize this activity log.
Starting with version 4.5 you may follow this procedure to clear out the Activity Log:
To remove a range of records from the Activity Log in Sage 100 ERP (not available in versions 4.40 or earlier):
- Open Library Master, Reports menu, Activity Log
- Click the Activity Log Search (magnifying glass icon) button
- Enter criteria to select a range
- Example: For Date, select a Starting and Ending date range (but not all ranges) – UPDATE: All ranges appears to work for me however unless I follow step #6 below I am not seeing the red “X” to purge
- Click OK to confirm the selection criteria and return to the Activity Log window
- Important: Also select SYSTEM as the type of records (see image below)
- Click the Purge Log (red “x” icon) button
- Select Yes, when prompted with “Do you want to purge the Selected Activity from the Log file?”
- Click OK to exit the Activity Log
