As year-end 2021 approaches, here are some frequently asked questions we receive from our customers. Some of these may only apply to currently supported versions of Sage ( essentially 2019.5 or higher).
What Versions of Sage 100 Are Supported?
Sage publishes a Sage 100 Supported Versions knowledge article which lists the following as being supported as of December 2021:
- Sage 100 2019
- Sage 100 2020
- Sage 100 2021
Is There An IRD ( Interim Release Download ) Required For Processing 2021 Year-End Taxes?
Only Sage 100 2019 requires an IRD for 2021. In order to apply the IRD to version 2019, you must also be on product update 5 for Sage 2019. The IRD is typically required for last-minute tax changes such as adding new tax form boxes
Sage publishes a guide to 2021 Year-End IRD Release Notes.
How Can I Backup My Sage 100 Files Prior To Closing?
Sage publishes an excellent list of the files used by Sage 100 as well as their locations. In almost all cases it’s a good idea to make a full backup as opposed to a backup that only copies files that have changed. We think that even if your IT department is making regular backups that it’s a good practice to have a separate backup at year-end just in case you need to retrieve data. These backups can be as simple as copy/paste of the files ( see locations in the article above ) to an external drive you purchase at your local office supply store or warehouse club.
Is There A New Version Of Payroll for 2022?
Sage recently issued an update with Payroll 2.22 which includes any changes necessary for the coming year.
Are There New Payroll Tax Tables for 2022?
Payroll tax tables are updated within the Sage 100 Payroll module. There is no longer a separate disk or download which needs to be manually applied. Sage maintains an online list of payroll tax table changes for 2022 which also provides information on how to request the latest tax table updates from within the payroll module.
