Keeping current with the latest release of Sage 100 is becoming increasingly important. Aside from the new features which Sage includes in each release, there are several overlooked but important reasons you should be on an annual Sage 100 upgrade schedule.
Here are my top three reasons for staying current:
Reason #1: Sage 100 v2015 and v2016 are the only two Sage 100 versions certified as compatible with Microsoft Windows 10 operating system (Professional and Enterprise editions, 32-bit and 64-bit).
Reason #2: As of August 2016, Sage 100 2016 is the only release to receive quarterly product updates which are bundles of fixes packaged into one easy to install software update.
Reason #3: Sage Direct Deposit Service is ONLY available in Sage 100 2016 and Sage 100 2015 PU 4 and higher. If you are using Sage 100 payroll and are subscribed to the new payroll service and wish to use the included Sage Direct Deposit service you will need to be on version 2015 PU 4 or higher of Sage 100.
Reason #4: If you use the Paperless Office Electronic Delivery feature and use email passwords longer than 14 characters you’ll find that only Sage 100 2016 has the expanded capacity to accept up to 128 character passwords. If you are using an earlier Sage 100 version you’ll need to shorten email passwords which may go against your IT policies.
