MAPADOC EDI Embraces Sage 100 ERP 2013 Visual Process Flows

January 16, 2013 by Wayne Schulz

Visual Process Flows are a new feature in Sage 100 ERP 2013 which was released in December 2012. This graphical menu system allows companies to simplify the Sage 100 ERP menu structures and reduce learning times for new employees by placing the most commonly used tasks into graphical menus. Process flows may also be exported and imported for easy sharing between Sage 100 ERP systems.

EDI developer SWK Technologies have just released a MAPADOC update which includes several Visual Process Flows which integrated directly into the latest Sage 100 ERP 2013 release.

Visual Process Flow for EDI Orders

The EDI Orders visual process flow is an interactive workflow diagram that shows the steps to complete for processing inbound EDI purchase orders.  All of the MAPADOC tasks to process purchase orders are show as well as links to Sales Order Data Entry, Sales Order Printing, and Picking Sheet Printing.  This visual process flow also contains links to all of the reports related to incoming purchase orders and links to the MAPADOC cross reference setup tasks that may be needed during processing.

Visual Process Flow for EDI Invoices

The EDI Invoices visual process flow is an interactive workflow diagram that shows the steps to complete for sending outbound EDI invoices. All of the MAPADOC tasks to process invoices are show as well as links to AR Invoice History Inquiry and Invoice History UDF Maintenance. This visual process flow also contains links to all of the reports related to outgoing invoices and links to the MAPADOC cross reference setup tasks that may be needed during processing.

Visual Process Flow for EDI ASNs

The EDI ASNs visual process flow is an interactive workflow diagram that shows the steps to complete for capturing ASN packaging information, printing labels, and sending outbound EDI advanced ship notices (ASNs).  All of the MAPADOC tasks to process labels and ASNs are show as well as a link to ASN History.  This visual process flow also contains links to all of the reports related to outgoing ASNs and links to the MAPADOC cross reference setup tasks that may be needed during processing.

How To Reprint The Data From A Sage 100 ERP Accounts Payable Check Stub?

January 9, 2013 by Wayne Schulz

Have you ever printed an accounts payable check and for whatever reason the detail on the stub which shows the invoices paid is missing?

When printing accounts payable checks there is a field labeled “Stub Lines”

I have seen instances where setting this number TOO HIGH can cause a check to print with incomplete/partial invoice listings.

The resolution is generally to reduce the Stub Lines number to be the actual # of lines that can fit on that check. Also, remember that both stubs of the check may have different amounts of space for invoice listing depending upon whether customization’s have made to your check layout. In those cases select the # of lines which is the SMALLEST # which fits on either of the stub in order to prevent losing invoice details.

Unfortunately re-printing check stubs is not possible however you may wish to use the Payments History Report from the Accounts Payable – Reports menu or the Trial Balance report on the same menu. Both of these standard Sage 100 ERP (fka MAS90 or MAS200) reports will show the check invoice detail.

4 Easy Steps To Update Your Sage 100 (MAS90) Payroll Tax Tables 2013

January 1, 2013 by Wayne Schulz

Here’s a quick reminder of how you can download the updated payroll tax tables for Sage 100 ERP (fka MAS90 and MAS200). The tax tables are only available online. Sage does not send out disks/CD materials any longer.

Luckily the process is very simple. Before you begin have everyone exit your Sage 100 ERP system (expect the process to take 15 to 30 minutes depending upon computer speed).

On December 17, 2012 Sage updated the payroll tax tables for Sage 100 ERP 2013. This update works on versions 4.30.0.23 and higher and contains the latest released income tax schedules from the federal and state governments. Be aware that late breaking tax news ofte requires that these tables are issued multiple times for updated legislation. Be sure to check with your Sage partner or tax advisor for advice on when to update the tables.

  1. Login to your Sage customer portal here.  Sage partners login here. Then proceed to step 2
  2. Click this link to download the IRD for 2012 (required for .9% Medicare Surcharge in 2013) – version 4.30.18+ only. Older versions of Sage 100 ERP must upgrade in order to use the IRD (Interim Release Disk).
  3. Click this link to download the latest IRS payroll tax tables.
  4. Now install the IRD first, then the tax tables. You’ll click each of the files you downloaded and the actual install programs will be unzipped into a separate folder. Navigate into those folders to perform the IRD and then the tax table install. I like to use \MAS90\CONSULTANT\DOWNLOADS to store various Sage related downloads but you can put them anywhere you like.

Reminder: If you’re printing W2 forms in 2013 after you’ve closed your 2012 payroll year – you will need to reset your Social Security limits to the 2012 levels only while printing the W2. Once printed be sure to change the limits back to 2013 levels.

Reminder: Beginning with next year all form printing (W2, 941, 1099) happens through Sage Aatrix – eFiling. This is a free included component of Sage 100 ERP though it must be separately loaded to your local workstation(s) in order to work. Contact your Sage partner for assistance.  If you are using Sage 100 ERP 2013 and cannot find your form printing menu – see this post Where Are W2 Form Printing, Quarterly 941 Printing or 1099 Form Printing In Sage 100 ERP 2013?
