DSD Associates has announced that through June 30, 2008 they are offering up 15% all purchases of their popular SQL Mirroring program.
If you’re not familiar with the SQL Mirroring program, what it does is take your standard MAS90 or MAS200 data files and mirrors them to SQL tables. Any changes you make in your standard MAS90 or MAS200 are automatically populated to the SQL tables.
Our clients have used this to create Crystal Reports based on the mirrored SQL tables which are typically much faster.
Here’s more information from the DSD Associates site:
Use SQL Mirroring for data warehousing, Sage MAS 90 to Sage MAS 500 conversions, Sage MAS 90 3.71 SQL upgrades, or for data security SQL Mirroring allows the user to choose which Sage MAS 90 data files are to be mirrored directly into a SQL database in real time. This means that as the records are added, updated, or removed from Sage MAS 90, the identical change will be made to your chosen SQL database at that instant. Records in the SQL database are always current You may select the location of the SQL “mirror” database on your system, and you may select which specific Sage MAS 90 files to mirror (or select all of them) The user may use Crystal Reports to report directly from the SQL database When printing “forms”, if the module is a “Business Framework” module, then the Crystal Work Files are mirrored to SQL automatically
I am a Mas expert, Access programmer as well as the CFO/Controller for Hydrofarm. We use an MRP system of my design (I have done many over the years) but the update can take 7 minutes … too long! We copy over many Providex tables to SQL nightly but we need “real time” mirroring.
How far has SQL mirroring come along, has the cost come down at all? We also have a SQL programmer on staff for our website … give me a call xxx-xxx-xxxx.
